Free Flu Vaccination Campaign

The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918, the deadliest in history, infected an estimated 500 million people worldwide—about one-third of the planet’s population—and killed an estimated 20 million to 50 million victims, including some 675,000 Americans. While the world is facing another deadly respiratory illness pandemic (COVID-19), influenza remains dangerous with significant morbidity and mortality.

One of APPNE’s community projects is to vaccinate against influenza the most vulnerable members of our society (underserved and uninsured). The idea of free flu vaccination came when we received flu vaccines from APPNA as part of National Health care Day (NHCD) in 2018. Since then, with help from our Board Members and Volunteers, we have held multiple free flu clinics and have vaccinated hundreds of adults and children in the New England region.

Most of our clinics are held at local mosques and community centers in NH, MA and RI. We have also held free flu clinic in collaboration with Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) in Worcester, MA. Due to increased awareness and education, we are receiving requests from multiple locations in the New England to host free clinics and every year we are adding more locations to our vaccination map. We are actively working to coordinate Covid-19 vaccination clinics also.

Please donate generously to our flu vaccination campaign so that we can continue to provide free flu vaccines every year.
