History & Vision

We are an Alliance of Pakistani Physicians that promotes and provides a platform for Pakistani physicians, a networking opportunity to assist young physicians and medical students and to empower our local Pakistani community to grow politically and socially. Since its inception in 2003, APPNE has collaborated and supported various organizations including Pakistan Association of Greater Boston (PAGB), Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN), Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS), Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and American Red Cross. We have actively participated in the fundraisers for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH), Indus Hospital, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) and The Citizens Foundation (TCF). Our Physicians have regularly volunteered at Lowell Community Health Center (LCHC), Lowell, MA, Worcester Islamic Center (WIC), Worcester, MA and have spent hundreds of hours at many Medical Camps and Free Clinics in Pakistan and in North America.

Goals & Objectives

  1. To support medical education and research.
  2. To form a peer group for support and career development of physicians of Pakistani origin in New England.
  3. To facilitate better understanding and relations amongst Pakistani physicians and people of New England.
  4. To institute mechanisms for cooperation with other medical organizations in New England.
  5. To help in the orientation and adjustment of medical students and medical school graduates from Pakistan entering the US medical system in New England by a variety of manners, including development of a mentoring program.
  6. To cooperate with medical schools and hospitals in Pakistan in ongoing continuing medical education by arranging lecture tours, conferences and workshops.
  7. To participate in medical relief and other charitable activities both in Pakistan and in North America.
