Dr. Syed Ahsan Mehboob Naqvi is a graduate of King Edward Medical University, Lahore , Pakistan who acquired postgraduate qualification of FRCS from UK. In 2007, he immigrated to the USA and completed residency training at Brown Alpert Medical School, and joined Miriam Hospital as a hospitalist. He moved to. St Francis Hospital in New York in 2003 but returned to Rhode Island and has been working in Landmark Hospital since 2015. He developed a new residency program in Landmark Medical Center in 2021. Currently, he is working as a Director of Hospitalist division at Landmark and is Adjunct Associate Professor of medicine in New York Medical College, Brown University, and Johnson and Wales University.
Imran Aziz Mian is a Pakistani Qawwali singer who carries the torch of his father, the renowned Aziz Mian. His father’s unique style and self-composed lyrics helped shape this devotional music form. Known for his powerful, raspy voice, he possesses a talent for conveying emotions through his music – Qawwali. While keeping the traditional Qawwali elements like harmonium, dholak, and tabla, Imran emphasizes the message of the poetry through repetition, creating a powerful connection with the audience.
Imran not only sings his father’s famous Qawwalis like “Main Sharabi Sharabi” but also performs his own compositions. He has found success in both religious and romantic Qawwalis. Imran Aziz Mian’s dedication to Qawwali ensures the continuation of this rich musical tradition.
